Confession

I spilled over like pouring water into a cup and looking the other way, and just kept yapping. I confessed things I’d been carrying for so long, stuff I never thought I’d say out loud. I felt vulnerable and thought, “Stupid girl.” At the same time, I felt guilty. But by daybreak, I felt light, actually I felt better. Isn’t that what we’re supposed to do, confess our sins?
I mean, when I read the Bible, it’s full of shady characters and seriously messed-up people, yet God still used them. Take David, for example. We all know his story, and still, God called him a man after His own heart.
God wants us to be open and transparent. When we don’t confess, we hold onto the ugly, and it messes with us. We start judging ourselves, and it hits our sense of worth. Unconfessed stuff keeps us prisoners in our own minds, making us feel unforgivable. It’s like we are the ones locking ourselves in.
“Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results.” James 5:16 (NLT)
So, find trusted, Holy Spirit-led friends, so you don’t fall victim to the stories you tell yourself. Unconfessed sin only pulls you away from God and deeper into sin.
My lovely friend, always seek Godly counsel.
You are loved, seen, and never forgotten.
