Black Forest Chocolate Mouse Cake

Easy no fail recipe, I promise
Chocolate Cake
2 eggs
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup oil
1/4 Buttermilk
1/4 sour cream
2 cups flour
Mouse
3 cups of fresh cream
2 slabs of your favourite chocolate
To make mouse
First step
1 cup of fresh cream
Chocolate cut up even pieces
Place in pot and Melt on medium heat continuously stirring till it makes a lovely chocolate sauce and all chocolate is melted, remove from heat and cool down.
Step 2
Whisk remaining cream together until it forms soft peaks. Pour in the melted chocolate little by little until you have a a beautiful mousse
Step 3
Remove your chocolate cake soaked in the cherry syrup from the fridge with cherries 🍒 - see previous post. Make sure you put it in a Springfold pan.
Pour mousse on top of the cake, cover the cake with cling wrap. And refrigerate up to six hours. It will become nice and firm.
To remove the cake from the springfold pan. Gently tap on the sides of the cake, take a butter knife put it on the sides to gently remove it from the sides before you loosen your springfold pan, this help that your cake is smooth all around. If you loosen the springfold pan to quickly it will take chunks out of your cake and the presentation won’t be so pretty.
Decorate with berries and cherries
I wish I did a video but I will definitely try this recipe again. See if I can do a video. It’s really an easy cake to make.

Tip. By fresh cream on the day, check the expiry date make sure you eat cake before the date. 😋
